Girl Scouts - G.I.R.L.s Rule Day - Panel Discussion

The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles hosted a wonderful event, "G.I.R.L.s Rule Day", and asked ASCE LA YMF members, Chloe Gharios of LADWP and Monica Morales of JACOBS, to represent women in engineering in their panel discussion! The event was during National Girl Scouts Week marking their 106th birthday and to celebrate, they set up a private viewing to watch A Wrinkle In Time in their own movie theater at LA Live! Chloe Gharios and Monica Morales were able to help inspire over 400 girl scouts to pursue STEM careers by explaining their career paths and what they do as civil engineers today! The girl scouts asked some really great questions after the panel discussion. Some of the girl scouts were even at Engineers Week-Girl Scouts Day two weeks prior, recognized Monica Morales from the event, and talked to her after the panel discussion to excitedly explain how because of Engineers Week they now want to be engineers when they grow up! It was a great weekend for Monica and Chloe, and they had a lot of fun with some future female engineers!
