Welcome to ASCE LA YMF's Engineers Week page! We are the Engineers Week (EWeek) Co-Chairs for 2023 and are so excited that you're interested in learning about this fun-filled, week-long event. Our goal is to inspire students that are curious about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and to explore the world of engineering together! We have put together a great team to lead EWeek 2023 and can't wait for you to join us.

If you are a student, teacher, or parent and are interested in participating in EWeek 202, please reach out to us at! If you are a prospective sponsor, please stay tuned as we will be releasing sponsorship opportunities soon.

Thanks for your interest in EWeek 2023. We are excited to make it the best one yet!

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Los Angeles Younger Member Forum (LA YMF), with support from our generous sponsors and several Council Districts, has participated in Engineers Week for more than a decade. Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, EWeek is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.

Our week-long event consists of five days of exciting fun-filled activities led by engineering professionals. Our unique event invites schools from the greater Los Angeles area to participate and is dedicated to introducing students of all levels to local branches of government and various fields of engineering. Our goal is to educate students about how their own communities were built and to inspire them with the possibilities of helping to shape their built environment!

In 2022, we took a hybrid approach, coordinating both in-person and virtual events and saw over 1,000 participants from over 15 schools. Students participated in hands-on activities such as creating DIY filtration devices, designing pasta towers, and building electric circuits. Engineers Week 2023 will be held from February 21-25 and will be returning to a completely in-person event!

If you are interested in participating in Engineers Week, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of our EWeek Co-Chairs or Day Leads!

Engineers Week 2023 needs your support!

Engineers Week is focused on inspiring future generations of engineers and providing opportunities for K-12 students to learn about science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in an engaging and fun environment through professional panels, discussions and hands-on engineering activities. We rely on volunteers from STEM-related fields to serve as guides and mentors for the students, further introducing them to career opportunities they may not yet know exist. Our goal is expose students from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds to the field of engineering and engage them in a fun and meaningful experience.

Engineers Week 2023 will be held in person at various locations and will consist of:

  • Elementary School Day (2nd-5th grade), held on Tuesday, 2/21/2023

  • Middle School Day (6th-8th grade), held on Wednesday, 2/22/2023

  • Girl Day (7th-12th grade), held on Thursday, 2/23/2023

  • High School Day (9th-12th grade), held on Friday, 2/24/2023

  • Girl Scouts Day (K-3rd grade), held on Saturday, 2/25/2023

From volunteers to funding, we seek support from both public agencies and private firms to promote the importance of government and STEM to students in the Los Angeles area. Our fundraising efforts will provide scholarships, materials for hand-on activities, student transportation, lunch, and t-shirts. Stay tuned for our formal sponsorship packet with an outline of the many benefits you can receive from sponsoring this event. If you would like to secure your spot as a Title or Day Sponsor, please reach out to one of our EWeek Co-Chairs, as these spots often go before we have even begun to market them!

If you are interested in getting more involved with event planning, please contact us at

We thank you in advance for your support and look forward to hearing back from you!
