Join LA YMF as we tour the ongoing demolition and replacement of the Riverside Drive Viaduct. Engineers from the City of Los Angeles HNTB, and FPL and Associates will lead the group on a walking tour to explore the enormous planning and construction effort involved in replacing this Viaduct in the City of Los Angeles, while simultaneously maintaining two-way vehicular traffic across the LA River, Avenue 19, and Metrolink and Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

The Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch (MLAB) and LA YMF are hosting a two half-day technical seminars featuring the industry's best practices in project and construction claims management. The workshop leaders will include Mr. Joe Seibold, P.E., Executive Vice President of ARCADIS and Ms. Christi Fu, P.E., Project Claims Analyst at ARCADIS. This is a great program for members who are involved in construction projects or who would like to learn more about construction management and avoidance of claims. A total of 7 PDH and/or MCLE credit hours can be earned by participating in this seminar.

The ASCE Centennial Committee invites you to an exclusive guided tour of the Los Angeles Aqueduct facilities. LA YMF invities everyone to our next Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 7th at 6:30 PM.

YMF's Board Meetings are the second Tuesday of every month (with the exception this upcoming May 7th Board meeting) at the City of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works building (1149 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90015) in downtown Los Angeles in the 7th floor conference room.

You are invited to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the City of Pasadena's beloved landmark, the Colorado Street Bridge. The City of Pasadena will also be celebrating its 127th birthday. The event will be held at the Pasadena Museum of History (470 W. Walnut Street, Pasadena, CA 91103). Admissions is FREE and includes entertainment and activities that explore the Bridges to Community, Exploration, Health, History, Imagination, and Understanding. This event is fun for all ages!

Join ASCE Los Angeles YMF on Friday, May 10th, 12:45PM – 2:30PM, in teaching the 3rd grade students at Clover Elementary (11020 Clover Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90034) about the design process! We will give a short outdoor presentation and conclude with an egg drop activity to challenge the students to innovate like the civil engineers of tomorrow. There are 4 classrooms total, so we are seeking at least 8 volunteers (2 per classroom).   All are welcome and no prior knowledge or experience is required to volunteer!
